ONLY YOU Lyric Video

ONLY YOU

Motion Graphics. Typographic Illustration | 2024

CONTEXT

On late 2023, the Andalusian dreampop and electronic band Cravat, along with the US singer and songwriter Vania asked for my collaboration to enhance the message of both music and lyrics of their original song "Only You" with the creation of a lyric video.

SOLUTION

This video clip was created as a work of art in itself and as an asset for the advertising campaign that both artists launched in early 2024 to announce the release of this track in digital music platforms.

APPLICATIONS

[LYRIC VIDEO]   |   [PROMO CLIPS]

Using After Effects as the main tool, this audiovisual work was created from three resources provided by Cravat: the original lyrics of the song plus two videos -one, of the branches of a tree moved by the wind, seen through grainy glass; another, the original Liquid Sky Analogic visuals' for another Cravat's track).

[LYRIC VIDEO]   |   [PROMO CLIPS]

A set of three different short clips were created as an extra asset for promotional purposes. They were posted on Meta social networks (Instagram, Facebook) both as promoted content and on each artist's feed as user content.

ELCAMM Music Management Course VIDEO

MUSIC MANAGEMENT COURSE

Video Edition. Motion Graphics | 2023

CONTEXT

ELCAMM is a private music academy that, since 2012, has been transmitting values for life through music to its students, using a teaching system that combines rigor, enjoyment and play.

ELCAMM completes its training offer with specific workshops for musicians. Sometimes, some workshops have a hard time getting off the ground. To help generate conversions for the Music Management Course, extra special work was done.

SOLUTION

In order to gather as many registrations as possible for this online course, we opted for a digital marketing strategy. The information and booking process was collected in a post on the ELCAMM blog, which acted as both a landing and conversion page to which sponsored posts on Meta's social media would lead.

Following ELCAMM's branding guidelines, I designed and animated one of the key leads conversion assets: a promotional video published on Meta's social networks as a sponsored post.

VIDEO

As an asset made to generate leads, I designed and animated a promotional video that was published on Meta's social networks as a sponsored post.

The target achieved with this video was to explain in less than a minute - and in a simple and fun way - what the online workshop was about, as well as managing to gather the minimum number of alumni required to carry it out.

ELCAMM III Green Music Camp VIDEO

III GREEN MUSIC CAMP

Video Edition. Motion Graphics | 2023

[CONTEXT]   |   [SOLUTION]   |   [VIDEO]   |   [CREDITS]

CONTEXT

ELCAMM is a private music academy that, since 2012, has been transmitting values for life through music to its students, using a teaching system that combines rigor, enjoyment and play.

Every summer, ELCAMM organises a week-long music camp in the middle of nature where children between the ages of 6 and 16 learn music while playing and enjoying their free time outdoors.

SOLUTION

In order to garner the highest number of registrations for this activity, we opted for a digital marketing strategy. Information and booking process for the camp were gathered in a post on the ELCAMM blog, which acted both as landing and conversion page to which a series of sponsored posts published on Meta social networks would lead to.

Following ELCAMM's branding guidelines, I designed and animated one of the most important assets for leads conversion: a promotional video published on Meta's social networks as a sponsored post.

VIDEO

The video's key narrative was based on comparing what a week of summer sounds like with children (noise, chaos, endless play) vs. without children (peace, quietness, silence, holidays). This video aimed directly to the need that all parents have to get rid, from time to time, of their offspring in order to enjoy a bit of quality time for them.

T#MOBILE WEEK Motion Poster

T#Mobile Week

Graphic Design & Illustration. Motion Graphics | 2021

CONTEXT

Transdisciplina A/V is an audiovisual collective that, since 2016, curates live events in which generative art, electronic music and live visuals merge live. To help promoting online the celebration of their special 2021 event - curated for the Málaga Mobile Week -, I was entrusted the design of its main advertising application: an original poster.

SOLUTION

The source of inspiration for this project comes from the coder universe, whose visual codes are shared both in the technological world and in the generative arts world. Thus, the graphic space in this poster is transformed into a console in which, after having started it, the event's lineup and data is loaded.

APPLICATIONS

In line with the visual concept of the project, the creation of this poster was done entirely in Adobe After Effects, using only expressions (JavaScript code snippets) with which I modulated the movement and appearance of both text and background.

T#21 Motion Poster

T#21

Graphic Design & Illustration. Motion Graphics | 2022

CONTEXT

Transdisciplina A/V is an audiovisual collective that, since 2016, curates live events in which generative art, electronic music and live visuals merge live. To help promoting online the celebration of their 21st edition, I was entrusted the design of its main advertising application: an original poster.

SOLUTION

The art direction for this project was based on the common feature of the event's lineup: almost all the artists came from the Oakland (USA) noise scene. Thus, the poster for T# 21 had to reflect such sonic and visual rawness plus the pleasure of being surrendered to them.

APPLICATIONS

The design for the motion poster was built from a video asset, Cube's music, and several layers of noise generated in Adobe After Effects. Movement, glitches and transitions were generated exclusively using expressions (JavaScript code snippets).

T#22 Motion Poster

T#22

Graphic Design & Illustration. Motion Graphics | 2023

CONTEXT

Transdisciplina A/V is an audiovisual collective that, since 2016, curates live events in which generative art, electronic music and live visuals merge live. To help promoting online and offline the celebration of their 2023 first event, I was entrusted the design of its main advertising application: an original poster.

SOLUTION

The creative process towards the final poster for Transdisciplina A/V's 22nd edition was not easy: the two initial proposals I submitted were rejected, despite their elaborate appearance and ambitious themes. These were two:

CONCEPT #01
aka Layers

Concept #01 mixes music technology (pad controller) and avant-garde technology (augmented reality) in a view where an imaginary software starts running, so to display the event's lineup info as if it were contained in AR layers.

CONCEPT #02
aka Fingers

Concept #02 displays each artist's info as if "drawn" by an imaginary finger, in a proposal which combines the usability of a smartphone / tablet (digital world) with the experience of direct drawing on a surface without using any other tool (physical world).

The creative solution for this project came from  empowering the client, an uncommon practice which proved to be very effective in this particular case.

APPLICATIONS

The definitive poster was made through a collaborative work process, in which we all contributed to its final design. From the resulting static composition, I developed a motion graphics version for social networks, based on two thematic axes:

01. The all-seeing eye
On one hand, this project is based on the voracious desire of our eyes to take in everything, whether watching from the central tower of Bentham's Panopticon or looking inside Jorge Luis Borges' Aleph.

02. Entertainment culture
On the other hand, the project revolves around the insane speed of this phygital and audiovisual landscape we call Reality - and in whose infinite catalogue of stimuli we try to stand out with the works and gestures we create from our own private Harlem.

All this, together with Rob Clouth's music, gave life to an animated poster that had a great reach on social networks.

BOOMBOX Motion Graphics

BOOMBOX

Illustration & Motion Graphics | 2016

CONTEXT

BoomBox was an itinerant audiovisual project that multimedia artist Azael Ferrer conceived to tour cities, festivals and unconventional spots with a ludical device, made to make everyone that came across its path get evaded from the limited and boring experience of urban spaces.

BOOMBOX | Official logo

BOOMBOX | Logo variations (left to right):
Sound System | Art Installation | Party Maker
Open Stage | Dance Floor | Lightbox

SOLUTION

A promo video was needed to help introducing the project to festivals and cultural institutions: sound systems are neither common nor easy to explain outside certain underground cultural scenes and cities. The video would also serve as an audiovisual asset to be published on social media and thus generate some traffic around the BoomBox project and its (now, offline) website.

APPLICATIONS

Using as a base the footage of a BoomBox tour through the city, I added layers of informative text about the project, plus a motion graphics intro generated from a simple pair of original typographic illustrations I made for this project's marketing application.

NOLAPTOP FEST 2022 Edition videos

NOLAPTOP FEST

Graphic Design & Illustration. Motion Graphics | 2022

CONTEXT

NolaptopFest is a small festival that organizes workshops and launches live electronic music and visuals acts, all of them generated exclusively with analogue tools. Since its first edition, this experiences have been curated by its mastermind, Chinowski Garachana.

After the 2020-2021 years gap (due to the COVID crisis), a collection of short motion clips for social media platforms were needed, so to help promoting more extensively the 2022 edition.

SOLUTION

Following the brand guidelines of the project and taking the video's assets from the official poster of the 2022 edition, a clip was made for each artist selected for the event, plus a motion adaptation of the official poster into an Instagram post and an Instagram story short clip.

APPLICATIONS

During the ten days prior to the event, a video of each artist was published every day on social networks, along with brief information about their work and links to their website and social networks (Bandcamp, Vimeo, etc.). These short videos, together with the planning and writing of the action, attracted a larger audience than in previous editions, proving that this strategy was really effective.

RAIN IN BAGDAD Motion Graphics

RAIN IN BAGDAD

Motion Graphics | 2016

CONTEXT

"Rain in Baghdad" was a short film directed by Pedro Terrero and Kike Ramírez, which says more than what it seems to and can fit in a few lines. This short film is an interesting and emotional sci-fi work on ordinary people, Eastern and Western cultures' differences, the loneliness of our elders and the rise and fall of a media hype. But, much above all, this project is about how small are we, as individuals and as species.

SOLUTION

In order to help Pedro and Kike telling this original story, I was assigned the creation of a motion graphics intro for a fictional Japanese TV show featured in the film, which I developed from a set of three keyframes, every of its elements then animated with After Effects.

APPLICATIONS

My work on this collaboration was completed in just one week, from its starting point as a set of three vector illustrations, to its combination and set in motion as an animated clip.
